Shane Mills is entering his second season as an
assistant coach at McLean High School. Shane graduated from McLean in 2006,
after enjoying a highly successful playing career for the Highlanders.
Shane led the Washington DC area in saves during the 2006 season, posting a
school record nine. He was recognized as the co-Liberty District Player of
the Year for his efforts, and was a first-team All-District, first-team
All-Region, and Honorable Mention All-Met selection as a pitcher during the
2006 season. Shane was named the Highlanders’ Most Valuable Player from the
2006 team, which established a school record for regular season wins with
15.
Shane spent the 2007 and 2008 seasons pitching for
Frederick Community College in Frederick, MD and earned his Associates
Degree. He will spend the 2010 season working with players at the
Junior Varsity level while preparing for a career as a police officer.
